Let the Cape Cod fun begin!

So after a long day of travel yesterday which culminated in our arriving at the house at midnight during the rainy throes of a tropical storm, we awoke this morning to a new day filled with sunshine. We started by getting some very tasty muffins and coffee followed by a trip to the grocery store to stock up on some supplies, get a pepperoni pizza from our favorite pizza place in Sandwich and then fit in a naptime for the schnitz.

Once the schnitz awoke from his nap, the real fun began! The house that we're renting is on a beautiful lake with a rather unfortunate name (Snake Pond...hmmm...someone should have said something to the Chamber of Commerce!). We decided that since it was a bit late in the day to go to one of the beaches we're intending to visit this week, we'd walk the schnitz down to the lake just to give him a preview of things to come. I'm pretty sure that he's convinced he died and went to heaven! I wasn't actually certain that we were ever going to be able to get him out of the water! I mean, how do you top the opportunity to get soaking wet and throw rocks and not get in trouble? (The really entertaining part is that he would pick big, specific rocks, throw them in the water and then "fetch" them. Maybe he thinks the puppies are on to something!:-) I've included some pictures to let you enjoy the fun with us!

Taking the stairs to "the pool" with daddy. How pretty is this?
First things first, Daddy, here's your share of the rocks!

Hmm...this water isn't as cold as the pool water at home...

Awww, now that those pesky clothes are gone, I'm ready to go!

Mommy got in the water, but the schnitz wouldn't share any of his rocks. I never get to have any fun;-) Thinking about taking the boat out for a spin.
But, decides to go back in the water for one more dip instead.

This is the life! Can't wait to see what my parents come up with to top this!

Stay tuned for continuing adventures!

He had SUCH a good time in there yesterday! It really is amazing that we got him out:-) We're getting ready to go to one of the bayside beaches in Dennis this morning and then we're going to let him play in the lake (or "pool" as he says) again this afternoon.

Should be a hit:-)
