it is hard to avoid the comments--since i was even pregnant with hanna. it can be a real downer. i am so thankful for the friends in my life that celebrate differences and the joy and preciousness of each person's uniqueness. and makes me hope that i haven't been the giver of those kinds of comments.

As the mother of a 12 month old that refuses to crawl, I say AMEN!!!

Amy-I have to say that you are one of the least parent-competitive and most supportive people I know. No worries there!:-)

Summer-I hear you! Rusty doesn't do anything in a normal way or time. He never really crawled, so much as rolling around on the floor or scooching a bit. Never really did practice the pulling up or taking a step or two. At 16 months over Thanksgiving he just started grabbing people's hands to walk with him and then a week later just started walking. What?? Talking...wouldn't copy a thing we said and didn't do the normal progression of "baby" words. But, a week before he turned 2 just started talking, talking and hasn't stopped yet! Crazy boy...but how fun is it that they're all so unique?:-)

I think Jax is just perfecting his skills at getting folks to come to him with just one look into those big blue eyes!:-)
